Thornleigh Thunder FC: Female Football in 2025
At Thornleigh Thunder FC, we are passionate about building a vibrant, inclusive environment where girls and women of all ages can thrive in football. Our 2025 Female Football Growth Strategy focuses on encouraging participation at all levels and in all teams, fostering community pride, and strengthening pathways for female players. Whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned player, we’re excited to welcome you to the Thunder family!
A Game for Everyone
We’ll be introducing tailored initiatives like Come and Try sessions and community open days to make it easy for girls and women to explore football in a fun and supportive setting. We’re also boosting visibility for female football by building on last year’s celebration of our players’ stories, sharing match highlights, and hosting events like National Female Football Week.
Developing Players and Leaders
From junior to senior levels, we want to ensure female players have opportunities to grow their skills and confidence.
We’re hoping to launch all-girls teams for younger players (U6, U8, U10 +), skill clinics led by female coaches, and mentorship programs to connect players across age groups. For those who aspire to coach, we’re providing resources and support to bring more women into leadership roles at the club, starting with some of our U15 female players who will be training up to coach some younger teams.
Building a Supportive Community
We understand the importance of feeling valued and supported. That’s why we’re committed to creating a welcoming club culture that celebrates all players achievements equally. Social events, flexible training options, and inclusive facilities will ensure all our players feel at home at Thornleigh Thunder.
With these efforts, we aim to inspire a love of football in more girls and women, fostering a sense of pride and belonging in our community.
Join us in 2025 as we make football a game for everyone!
